Jungle Adventure

Project Overview:

A modern nursery was designed for a pair of grandparents in their downtown condo. The jungle mural sets the stage. A contemporary look provides the color palette for the room. Modern furniture in gray tones and nickel accents was chosen. Teals, blues, greens and grays dance around the space.

Our Goals

Proud grandparents wanted to turn their rarely used office space into a nursery for their first grandson. They wanted the very small space to house both a crib and a bed.

The Solutions

The clients wanted a modern look for their grandson’s nursery. A jungle theme became the look for the space. A wallpaper mural was placed on the largest wall which the young baby could see from his crib anywhere in the room. For the furniture, a gray tone was chosen. The bed and the dresser have nickel accents which gives a modern feel. An abstract rug was chosen for the display of blues, green and gray. The rug set the tone of the colors for the bedding and the window treatments. To address the window, a sliding door, a shade was hung to block the light when needed. A simple cornice of teal cotton fabric was corded in a kiwi green cord. The same fabric combination was used in the crib.

A comfortable swivel rocker of cream linen fabric was chosen to provide the grandparents a place to cuddle their grandson. The twin bed will be used by the grandson as he gets older. But for now, it is the perfect place for grandpa to sleep when their overnight guest is in the crib.

Accessories add to the whimsy of the room. A pair of playful giraffes over the crib and a couple of stuffed animals companions complete the look.
