Connected to the Outdoors

My client had already purchased a live edge table and chandelier for her dining area for her new luxury condo in downtown Raleigh. Being recently single, she realized the space was quickly feeling too masculine and needed my assistance to soften the space and provide a feeling of casual elegance.

Project Overview:

Lisa’s client has a deep appreciation for nature and enjoys spending time outdoors, so we aimed to incorporate organic and nature-inspired elements throughout her main living space. Her love for rich, jewel-toned primary colors combined with a taste for understated opulence guided our design choices, blending luxury with the serenity of the natural world.

To set the tone, we selected a striking, nature-inspired piece of art for the dining room. This artwork, featuring vibrant hues of green, red, and yellow/gold, established the color palette for the space. These tones informed the sumptuous velvet performance fabric we chose for the dining chairs, adding both beauty and durability. The Bordeaux red accent wall became a bold yet refined backdrop, while the gold banding on the elegant ivory draperies added a touch of sophistication.

One of the standout features of the design is the carved wood decorative grille she fell in love with, which resembles delicate cherry blossoms and is finished in a lustrous pearl tone. This piece perfectly captures the essence of biophilia, bringing a feeling of nature indoors while adding an element of refined elegance. The overall result is a space that harmonizes her love for nature with a luxurious yet inviting atmosphere, creating a home that feels both glamorous and deeply connected to the outdoors. The very best of interior design.
